Samba percussion workshop with reclaimed DIY instruments
In this FREE workshop, you will be introduced to Brazilian-style samba drumming on instruments made of discarded items.
RenCAN collaborates with experienced samba drumming teacher Doug Summers of Bloco Winnoch on this workshop, where we'll have a range of waste percussion items to try. Or why not make your own instrument, using discarded items?
Everyone is welcome - whether you have some prior drumming or musical experience or are curious.
This project is part of RenCAN's 'From Trash to Treasure' project which aims to promote reducing, reusing and recycling waste locally to work towards a more circular economy. A short video clip of the workshop will be used to promote this work.
