The Debating Society meets every Monday from 4-6:30pm and every Thursday from 4-6pm on Level 2 of the Paisley Students' Union. They welcome anyone interested in debating to come along and get involved regardless of experience.

The Debating Society has only been founded in 2022. Therefore, becoming a member now gives you the opportunity to mould the way our society operates. You can also become part of the committee and help lead the team in a number of different positions!

We aim to debate every week on topics which are decided in previous sessions by members. In our meetings we will improve your comprehension of debate structures, your role, and techniques to help you argue your point and win more easily.

Actively debating in our sessions will improve your critical thinking and strengthen your ability to defend and argue your beliefs more effectively. Our structured sessions will also build on your confidence in your public speaking abilities - a crucial aspect of many careers after leaving University.
